When paint enters the rotating cup, it is centrifuged, resulting in a conical paint layer. The serrated protrusion on the rotary cup's edge divides the paint film into microscopic droplets. When these droplets exit the rotating cup, they are exposed to the action of atomized air, resulting in a homogenous and thin mist.
